The Knights' Academy is an institute for learning to become a Knight. It was founded by Reginald Brickland.
History[]
The Knights' Academy was founded within the heart of the kingdom, by one of the Order of Eight - the original protectors of the land Knighton and founders of the Code of Knighthood - Reginald Brickland, who brought the institution from the ground up.
Since then the Academy remain there throughout a thousand years before itself and its code was modified within the inevitable passing of 500 years, repeated once more around another half millennium within the newest modern technology advances.

- Robin Underwood (teaching assistant)
- Persnickety Marge (Librarian)
- Captain Clash (Battle Instructor/Combat Skills Teacher)
- Brutzle
- While it is not clear what exactly Brutzle's staff role is, we see her sharpening weapons and generally taking care of equipment upkeep in "The Forbidden Power" (chapter 2). She calls herself a "Jill of all trades" but what that actually means for her job isn't clear- it could mean she does a little of everything for her job or just that she's just multi-talented. However, the fact that we see Brutzle handling weapons and equipment upkeep MIGHT could suggest she is a teacher of one (or all) of the Weapon Maintenance classes mentioned in "The Knight's Code: A Training Guide" (pages 68-69). This theory is furthered by the fact Brutzle is in possession of a Field Quest clue, Brickland said that only academy professors and squirebots would have clues.

Classes[]
- Geography
- This class being referred to here is the first year class being taught by Professor Scapeland in "The Forbidden Power". Whether or not the class taught by Professor Scapeland is the same as the course called Geography of Knighton in the ancient academy schedule in "The Knight's Code: A Training Guide" is unclear. It is entirely possible the classes are the same or are separate. Not enough information is given about the geography class in "The Forbidden Power" to tell.
- Introduction To The Knight's Code: Basics of Knighthood[1][4][5]
- Damsel in Action 101
- It is actually unclear whether or not this is a course or if it has remained a class. Macy says that Damsel in Action is a rename of a class called Damsel in Distress 101, but she refers to it as "a course" rather than a class so it raises the question if not only was there a name change but if the course got absorbed into another class. Macy makes the aforementioned revelation on page 22 of "The Knight's Code: A Training Guide".

Clubs/extracurriculars[]
Officially sanctioned clubs by the academy[]
The clubs listed here are officially academy sanctioned clubs mentioned on pages 80-81 in the "The Knight's Code: A Training Guide" but more clubs are mentioned throughout the book. Page 80, before listing the clubs, says this:
"What dubs and croups might there be at the Knights' Academy? Glad you asked! There are many different interest groups that are officially sanctioned:" then it lists the groups listed below, implying that this is the list of officially recognized clubs.
Knight Club[]
"Earn your merit badges for knightly activities like: chain mail repair, wound lancing, digital fire building, and finding alternate uses for an axe."[4]
The Kingsmen[]
"The official academy Glee Club that sings updated arrangements of old classics like 'Cut Out that Dragon's Tongue' (the mech-hop update), 'Boiled in Oil, Oil, Oil!,' and 'The Sword Swingers Theme in C-Sharp.'"[4]
Both Axl and Queen Halbert were apart of this club at their time at school.[9]
Club Club[]
"Collect, trade, and use your favorite clubs with your academy peers."[4]
Swim Club[]
"Can you actually swim in armor? You're going to find out."[4]
Archers Anonymous[]
"For the kids who just gotta shoot, shoot, shoot arrows."[4]
Shields and Spears[]
"The club for students in the upper ten percent of their class."[4]
Clay was apart of this club.
Study Or Get Expelled[]
"The club for students in the lower ten percent of their class."[4]
Lance was in this club.
Helmet Hair[]
"Grooming tips for everyone who wears armor."[4]
Synchronized Spearing[]
"Can you dance and hurl a spear at the same time? I bet you can!"[4]
Dungeon Divers' Club[]
"Wanna explore every dark, musty dungeon in the kingdom? You can do it with the special field trips sponsored by this club."[4]
Living Chess Club[]

Magic Debate Society[]
"Use your magic powers to make a point... or to clamp a magic mouth-plug onto your opponent's yapper."[4]
Mech Club[]
"Gearheads and Mech Makers build and battle with their favorite mechs."[4]
Theatre[]
It focuses on knights, according to page 76 of "The Knight's Code: A Training Guide"
If we assume that this extracurricular is the same as drama class, that would mean both Lance and Jestro would have participated during their time at the academy.
Non-sactioned clubs by the academy[]
The clubs listed here are clubs that are not listed in pages 80-81 of "The Knight's Code: A Training Guide".
Impact Instrument Club[]
Nothing is known about this club other than the fact that Queen Halbert was the club's first freshman president.[4]
Baking club[]
"Baking club! Where you learn to make soufflés worthy of knights ;)" - Note from Axl on page 76 of "The Knight's Code: A Training Guide"
Axl was in this club.
Debate Club[]
This club is described as debating knights, so it is likely different than the magic debate club mentioned before.
Events[]
Combatiton[]
The Combatition is a duel style tournament that all first year students seem to participate in on their third day of school. The competition's purpose is to have students showcase their skills in order for the assessment of students' skills and categorizing students by skill level.
Using NEXO powers is against the Combatition rules- it is an old school fight using weapons only. Students also must use the weapon they chose the day before in their first Combat Skills class of the year in the Combatition.[1]
Field quest[]
The field quest is basically a scavenger hunt, despite Principal Brickland's insistence that it isn't one. The field quest happens for first year students on their first day. The field quest requires all students to partner up into pairs. Clues to the item being scavenged for are kept by "academy professors and squirebots," in the words of Brickland. Clue-holding professors and squirebots are not required to give up their clues, it is entirely up to the clue-holder to give it up or not.
A known Field Quest object that was sought was Ned Knightley's Silver Sword of Silverness.[1]
Principal's Tournament[]
"The end of the academic year festival that lets students of every level show off their skills. Everyone wants to win Brickland's Brick- the tournament's ultimate trophy."[10]
Fall Theater Fest[]
"Enjoy classic plays by Quakespear, the most famous ancient playwright in Knighton. This year saw a production of his most classic play, Hammerlet."[11]
Bowdacious day[]
"A chance to show what can be done with a bow or crossbow. Shoot targets, split apples on friends' heads, play your bow like a guitar ... it's all part of Bowdacious Day!"[10]
Armor day[]
"Students get a chance to show off their best armor."[10]
Spring joust[]
"Grab a hover horse, a lance, and a quality helmet, and get out and see who can knock the other one off!"[10]
Alumni tournament[]
"A chance for the students to battle some famous alumni."
Aaron remarks that "You'll let Brickland win if you know what's good for you," implying that Academy staff, if Knights Academy alumni, can be some of the opponents the students face.[11]
Singing sword competition[]
"A chance to have your name engraved on the Singing Sword for the boomiest voice of any academy student."[11]
The Queen Of Clean festival[]
"Grab a hammer and reshingle the roof to the Grand Hall! This festival was founded by Queen Halbert who loves to hammer."[11]
The "Dance 'Til You Drop" winter formal[]
"Put on your best clothes, and you and your date must try to be the last couple dancing to win this prom/competition combination."
The current record holder is Queen Halbert at 11 days straight.[11]
Chivalry debate[]
"Placing your cloak over a puddle or using your helmet to boil soup for starving orphans- -which is more chivalrous? Argue it out at the tournament!"[11]
Known Appearances[]
- The Black Knight
- Back to School
- "The Forbidden Power"
- "The Knight's Code: A Training Guide"
- Knights of the Realm - Part 1
- Knights of the Realm - Part 2
Trivia[]
- The main building of the academy seems to be called "The King Pike IX Learning Center" which is named after King Pike IX who funded the building.[12]
- The main gate was dedicated years ago to King Pike VII.[4]
- The statue in the entry hall is Ned Knightly.[1]
- Apparently, very few students take public transportation to get to the academy.[1]
- The Academy's motto is "Ut Ad Arma, Atque Ad Protegendum" which is Latin for "learning to shield and protect".

- ↑ Merlok became the resident sorcerer of the school, replacing Gornzibarf The Great, around 480 years ago, according to "The Knight's Code: A Training Guide" (page 9). 480 years ago should be assumed rather than 500, despite Principal Brickland's note of the first edition being written 500 years ago, as Clay comments that Merlok's photo and entry in the book was written 480 years ago rather than 500 years ago. We can assume that Merlok stopped as "resident wizard" by the time the show starts as Merlok lives in his library at the palace instead of at the academy. When this change happened is not exactly clear.
- ↑ Gornzibarf The Great is mentioned on page 9 of "The Knight's Code: A Training Guide". Gornzibarf The Great was the resident wizard of the academy for "nearly a thousand years" at which point Merlok replaced him.
